Jim Robertson began his professional career in 1982 in the trenches of the Crane Industry in Florida.  In 1986 he began his tenure with General Crane, USA where he quickly worked his way to the top becoming the company’s Managing Partner in 2002.  General Crane, USA has offices in Florida, Georgia Texas.  Currently, he is also the Managing Partner for Hunter Crane, Republic Towers and Hoist and Merchant Transport.

Jim’s involvement in his industry is unparalleled and his work in other construction related areas besides his own is unmatched.  In 1988, only six years after his start in the business, he was inducted as a national director of the Associated Builders and Contractors.  By 1994 he became the Gold Coast Chapter president of ABC and then its Florida State president in 1996.  Jim co-founded the Florida Crane Owners Council (FCOC) in 2000 and served as chairman from 2000 to 2004. In 2006, He was elected president of the Construction Association of South Florida (CASF).

Jim held the designee of “Subject Matter Expert” through the University of Florida’s National Center of Construction Education & Research Foundation for his unprecedented contribution to designing the core curriculum for crane education in the United States.  He is also recognized as the driving force behind the 2003 Worker’s Comp Reform bill which changed the face of Worker’s Comp in the state of Florida. Through this bill a vital issue to the crane industry, “Horizontal Immunity” was reinstituted.   His legislative work didn’t stop there. For the past three years, Jim has been instrumental in the implementation of the Legislative Crane Bill in Tallahassee. Most recently, he was appointed to serve as a member to the Florida Public Task Force on Workplace Safety by The President of the Florida State Senate, Ken Pruitt.

Jim’s community service is also unrivaled.  He is actively involved as a Corporate Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County where he helped to form the “Generals Club”. The “Generals Club” is a program that promotes and educates teens in all aspects of the construction industry and is currently building a Construction Academy School. 

Jim has two sons and resides in Broward County Florida with his wife and daughter.

Jason has been a part of General Crane USA since 1973, where he began his career in the hoisting business as an adolescent. Countless hours and summers were spent learning the crane business from the yard to the field. Jason and the Retterath name are synonymous with crane excellence in the South Florida construction industry.

Jason has held every position in the field of cranes, from operating cranes maintenance and mechanical side of the equipment. He has also erected all types of cranes from mobile towers and all phases of electric tower cranes. Jason has spent many years in the field. Jason’s lifetime experiences make him an expert in the crane and hoisting business. Jason is from the Midwest and grew up in South Florida and now resides in Palm Beach with his wife Annie and four children Christopher, Hunter, Dustin, and Rachel.
